Whether you are driving north or south the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel allows you to see the mighty surge of the Atlantic Ocean, and the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay.  This engineering marvel was selected as one of the Seven Engineering Wonders of the Modern World and won an award for Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement.

Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge

Also the gateway to world-famous Assateague Island National Seashore and NASA Wallops Flight Facility where rockets are launched.  Walk for miles on a pristine Atlantic Beach, look for wild pones, climb a lighthouse and don’t forget to try the Chincoteague oysters.

Kiptopeke State Park

500 acre state park along the Chesapeake Bay, includes hiking trails, a fishing pier, boat ramp and rentals.

Tangier Island
